Follows four friends in 't Gooi, a Dutch region where rich people live. One of those four friends, Cheryl, married Dutch singer Martin Morero. She moved from Amsterdam to 't Gooi. Anouk is an artist. She makes mostly erotic art. Willemijn is married to Evert. They have children together. Their marriage is reserved and sexless. She eats because of her frustrations about Evert. Claire is a lawyer and married to Anton. They have a 15 year old daughter: Merel. Anouk, Willemijn and Claire are born in 't Gooi, Cheryl is a newcomer. These four friends have to deal with the problems of well-being and richness.

Claire has been knocked out with a bat and left in the pool, she's in a coma. Cheryl and Willemyn promise to take care of everything, especially for daughter Merel.
De voorbeeldige moeder
Claire comes out of her coma and has a visit of a detective. Anouk makes plans for Vlinder's birthday, witch is coming soon. Martin has problems with the pregnant Tippi Wan.

Claire is released from hospital, but home is a lonely place. She pretends her daughter Merel, in fact in jail for the murder attempt, is at boarding school, and gets Willemyn to foot a 6.000 Euro monthly 'board' bill.
De fiscus
Now her ex Evert even makes a trip to Milan with his mistress Diana van der Kieft, housemother Willemijn decides to start living as a spoiled single, and expects her friends to help her get started, especially free spirit Anouk, who is however more interested in her daughter's new au-pair Jurriaan.
Reality
Because his latest record release was slow, Martin has accepted to become the star in a reality soap.

Evert finally realizes his girl friend Diane is just too young for him, so he's furious when Willemyn seems to fall for Louis, an elder gentleman who tried to intervene when her purse was snatched.

Merel has been released from juvenile prison and claims to be reformed. Mother Claire is in no way inclined to believe her or to take her back.

Cheryl has an early Christmas child, but with Tom acting as birth coach.
